DEUTSCHE BAHN
How do you integrate target-group-specific offerings into an existing booking flow?
Challenge.
Booking train tickets with Deutsche Bahn follows flows refined over years. Every change affects an established structure.
At the same time, targeted offers needed to be integrated. Clear and usable for the relevant audience. Without adding unnecessary complexity to the existing journey.
Approach.
Work started inside the existing booking flow. Where can new offers be added without disrupting how people book. Where do they fit without changing the flow itself. From this, user flows and wireframes outlined different integration options.
Prototypes turned these options into testable scenarios. User tests showed what works and what adds friction. Insights fed directly back into the concepts. The result is a solution that fits into both website and app and works in live use.
